Our Story
Fate and friends brought us together on January 1, 2005 in Atlanta. Jason was a nomad at the time and happened to be crashing on a couch in Atlanta, and Claire was on a roadtrip from Cincinnati with girlfriends. Although mutual friends, Laura and Darren, introduced us and we give them credit for encouraging the start of our relationship, our meeting was not conspired and the events of that day were completely spontaneous. What started out as a casual brunch with a random group of friends, turned into an all-day pub crawl and the development of a serious crush between the two of us. It's difficult to put into words all the things that attracted us to one another, but we were surely in the right place at the right time in both our lives and our hearts.
After we met that New Year's Day, we spent almost every weekend together in one city or another, and spent our first vacation together in Maui. It didn't take long before we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. We moved to Boston in the spring of 2005 and then to Miami Beach in the spring of 2006, with plenty of amazing trips in between. While in New Zealand in November of 2006, during a self-guided bike tour through wineries, we became engaged to be married. We united our lives in marriage on August 4, 2007, on the US Virgin Island of St. John.
